A Peerless Engine...Apart

Some projects start as a ground up rebuild and other projects become a ground up rebuild. The work being done by the Lederer’s on their 1910 Peerless Model 27 would fall firmly into the latter category. This project started with replacing a broken valve spring, escalated into a complete tear down of the engine to do a thorough inspection, and culminated in finding a crack in the crankshaft. Once it was this far apart, they developed a bad case of “while-we’re-at-it” and decided to restore the cosmetics of the car as well. The machining of the engine components has been all completed and now it’s ready for reassembly!
The work being done on this engine looks absolutely first class. We’re very excited to get a future update on their progress and see this magnificent vehicle being all put back together. Special thanks to the Lederer’s for taking the time to provide this update.
