Well we’re one month away and the fleet of cars is coming together.
The Lozier Model 77 is coming together wonderfully. It’s had a fantastic paint job in a deep green with a cream pinstriping. Andy has had it out on the road ironing out some minor bugs but all in all it’s ready to take on the challenge ahead.
Read MoreMy 1915 Mercer 22-70 Sporting Four is powered by a 300 Cubic Inch L-Head four cylinder. Rated at 70HP it is a one year only engine and was heavily based on the Del-Tel race car. Extremely modern for it’s time it features full pressurized oiling to mains and cam, as well as the quite unique USL starting system integrated into the flywheel. It’s a joy to drive but like all old cars it’s always in need of some TLC before a long journey.

Read MoreSome projects start as a ground up rebuild and other projects become a ground up rebuild. The work being done by the Lederer’s on their 1910 Peerless Model 27 would fall firmly into the latter category. This project started with replacing a broken valve spring, escalated into a complete tear down of the engine to do a thorough inspection, and culminated in finding a crack in the crankshaft. Once it was this far apart, they developed a bad case of “while-we’re-at-it” and decided to restore the cosmetics of the car as well. The machining of the engine components has been all completed and now it’s ready for reassembly!

Although a small number of Thomas Flyer’s still exist today, none are being setup for touring like the Chattin’s 1911 KC-670. They have taken a nicely restored touring car and made the tough decision to tear into all the mechanical components and truly bring this vehicle to the next level.
