A Peerless Engine...Apart
/Some projects start as a ground up rebuild and other projects become a ground up rebuild. The work being done by the Lederer’s on their 1910 Peerless Model 27 would fall firmly into the latter category. This project started with replacing a broken valve spring, escalated into a complete tear down of the engine to do a thorough inspection, and culminated in finding a crack in the crankshaft. Once it was this far apart, they developed a bad case of “while-we’re-at-it” and decided to restore the cosmetics of the car as well. The machining of the engine components has been all completed and now it’s ready for reassembly!
